Our client, Square One Management, in Berkeley, CA, has an unwavering commitment to their tenants and the local student community they serve. They also recognize that talented, dynamic, and self-driven individuals are what fuel their company’s success, and as a result, they retain their employees.

If you are looking for a career where no two days are the same, and you value a flexible and friendly team working environment where they celebrate wins, and the goal is always to be a better version of yourself, and the sky’s the limit, keep reading!

Does this sound like you?

You have a passion for helping others and are also passionate about your own professional and personal growth.

You are the special someone who understands how meaningful this business can be and someone who enjoys making a lasting impact on the community. You are a driver and a motivator who strives to make a difference. You know you are a self-starter because you prefer to “own” your job rather than having someone micromanage your daily tasks, and you are responsive, organized, and have strong attention to detail. Without being prompted, you recognize the goals are to maximize asset value, tenant satisfaction, and revenue, and you enjoy doing your part to conquer them. In addition, you are incredibly tech-savvy and use the software applications available to you.

You have the ability to interact with a wide variety of people, demonstrate empathy and patience, and enjoy delivering a concierge level of customer service – time and time again. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, understand the importance of discretion, have sound judgment, and have a reputation for being honest and transparent.

You have high emotional and social intelligence, embrace the opportunity to flex your creative problem-solving skills, and you have a knack for marketing properties!

A Day In The Life

Your mission is to provide a positive experience to tenants, their parents, and your team! You will have a lot of latitude in managing your time and producing the desired results.

You’ll do a little of everything, including but not limited to the following:

Leasing and Marketing: You can be relied on to show various properties available for lease while simultaneously advertising and marketing said properties. You are responsive to incoming leads from prospective tenants, enjoy finding creative ways to create additional leads, and you will execute rental agreements with tenants and their parents. You will also be involved in ensuring rents are collected in a timely manner and deposits are returned to tenants in a timely manner.

Tenant Support: You will assist tenants with maintenance issues and do basic triage before referring them to the maintenance team. In addition, you will ensure tenants feel heard and do your best to resolve tenant issues along with Resident Managers that arise from time to time. This is where your sound judgment naturally comes into play. You recognize that not everything is an emergency, and you can actively listen to create the best possible outcome. (However, you also know how to kindly say no, or provide alternatives and recognize you can not be all things to everyone).

Additional Factors: You will assist in the general upkeep of the office by keeping business supplies and refreshments on hand. From time to time, the company renovates existing property and adds to its portfolio. This is an opportunity for you to assist in and be rewarded for your efforts on those projects.
